After receiving valued tastemaker support from The FADER, Magnetic Magazine, Acid Stag, BBC Radio 1xtra, Kitsuné and others on 'GET YOUR WHOLE LIFE', Conrad Clifton announces 'IS IT YOU: Beat Tape (Full Circle)' - a 10-song concept piece, expanding on one of the standout tracks from the previous album.

The first single from the project is “Hi, Still Here”. The Brooklyn-based electronic artist shows considerable sample chopping abilities, as he flips a psychedelic-rock gem from the ‘70s. Not only reorganizing the original parts, but repitching the vocals to introduce a progressive chord structure. We hear a familiar creative tone, with the addition of dense pads, but this is definitely vintage Conrad Clifton. While one hears the influence of J Dilla and Madlib, clearly this isn’t new territory for the beatmaker. If the forthcoming 'IS IT YOU: Beat Tape (Full Circle)' is an origin story… we’re here for it.

“This is one of the craziest beats I’ve made. There are cymbals everywhere, and that “Hi” vocal sample just demands attention!” Conrad recalls, “I made this around the time I was working with Yelawolf, and was heavily into old rock samples. I’ve always loved blurring the lines between styles and genres. “Hi, Still Here” switches from this heavy beat battle track, to an almost romantic/thoughtful moment, before going hard again. Like a conversation, or call and response. In that way, it’s similar to “HUNTER GATHER-HER”, but it’s a totally different sound.”
